What is Counselling ?

Misty Woodland

Meeting with a counsellor provides a safe place and opportunity to talk about the issues you, or the people you care about, may have.

Having someone who is trained to listen, support, and reflect with you during this time is the essence of counselling.

Part of this process involves getting to know oneself, and how we each consider and interact with the world differently.

Understanding our needs and how to meet them in a wholesome way is a starting point for change.

Counselling works when an honest, confidential, non-judgmental relationship is established.

The benefit of such a relationship is to support you on your journey.

Do not be afraid to ask questions-they are not silly or wrong.

The more confident you feel about meeting with a counsellor, the better the potential outcome.
